"Place de Furstenberg"
is in the Saint-Germain-des-Pres Area on the
Left Bank
(
"Rive Gauche"
) of Paris, on the South side of the River Seine. It
is "famous as one of the most charming squares in Paris". (Musee-Delacroix).
It is a small, quiet square with a small, circular central area that has four Paulownia trees (often called princess trees or Emperor Paulownia trees that blossom in the Spring before they get new leaves), one old-fashioned streetlight with five globes, and a simple single park bench.
The Place
is located where the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres used to be. At first it appears to be of little consequence until we stand in it or sit on the bench, especially in the evening and in springtime. Then, Paris seems to reach out to us! Some have said:

Mr. Lecoindre
was born in 1932 in Bretagne (Brittany) in the northwest of France.
He studied at Ecole Art et Publicite and Ecole des Arts Appliques a Paris. Exhibitions of his work have been held in France, Algeria, Columbia, Japan, Belgium, England, Canada, Italy, and the United States, and include the 1977 Chateau de Fontainebleau Exhibition.
Mr. Lecoindre was, and is,
one of the finest Lithographic Printmakers in Paris
, renowned in France, Europe, and the United States.
His artwork is included in numerous public, corporate, and private collections worldwide.
