Description
Polish 19th Century Military Uniform Coat - ReproductionThis military uniform coat came from Poland, and I was told it was made for a Polish historical movie. A Google search convinces me that it represents a Duchy of Warsaw uniform, but perhaps you know better.
Made of strong wool or cotton, the chest is lined with a blue satiny material, while the sleeves are lined with a grey satiny material. The bottom half is lined with red wool or cotton. The bottom tails are turned over and stitched together at the edges to expose the red lining.
It fastens with five hooks at the chest and five buttons at the waist. All the metal hooks and buttons are present. I've taken pictures of it both unfastened and fastened.
In excellent condition, no flaws of any sort that I could find: no holes, rips, or stains (apart from general very light soiling of the white sections in front).
Measurements:
Neck: 19 inches around
Chest: 19 inches across
Length: 40 inches from top of collar to bottom
Sleeve length: 30 inches from shoulder hem (I am 5'7" and the sleeves cover my hands, though they can be pulled up)
A fine costume for re-enactment or display!
